Kids' Party Favors
Kids' party favors can make a big difference in achieving overall party success.
Children love to receive gifts, and party favors are just enough to send kids home with a smile.
Favors don't have to be costly. A personalized touch is always best. Be creative. You want your guests to be thrilled about attending your party.
You can give out favors to children at any age. Just be sure they are alike in size, color, and appeal. Let your child help you choose favor items. The "party bag" has become an accepted part of birthday celebrations. So you may want to put together identical bags for everyone.
Children's Birthday Party Favor Ideas
- Hand out the party bags at the very end of the party, as each guest is going out the door, and make sure they're marked with the children's names. Or wrap identical favors and put them in a big bag or box and use the "grab bag" method.
- You can also place an open gift-wrapped box on the party table as a centerpiece. Place a favor for each child inside, with a streamer tied to the favor and leading to each child's place at the table. Before serving the food, let each child pull the streamer to receive the attached favor.
Toddler Party Favors You can have birthday favors for younger children. They can include items such as small toys, balls, ABC blocks, puzzles, etc. Just be sure to make your favors memorable. Take an instant picture of each kid with the birthday child as a take-home favor. Tape or staple to each favor an instant picture you've taken of each child, and let the kids find their favors that way. If you don't have access to an "instant" camera, borrow one, or use your regular camera and mail the picture with an after-party thank-you note.
Coolest Kids' Party Favors
*Whistles threaded with colorful shoelaces to be worn as necklaces.
*Fill party bags with wrapped candy (five kinds of small candies are ideal), a box of animal crackers and sugarless gum. Pens that are made to look and smell like candy give a sugarless favor "candy" overtone.
*Save shopping time and money by buying 4- or 6-pack sets of items such as clay sets, small cars, or other little items and dividing them among the bags.
*Buy (or make) modeling clay and place it in individual plastic bags. Tie three bags together with a piece of yarn. The children can play with clay at the party or take it home. Add a cookie cutter for even more fun.
*You can also give out jump ropes, pinwheels, crayons, markers, activity or coloring books, flashlights, novelty erasers, stickers, yo-yo's, miniature cards, magnets, plastic games, puzzles, key chains, to name a few! Here are some extra pointers for children's party favors.
