How to Create Outstanding Kids' Birthday Invitations
Kids' birthday invitations set the tone for a party, establish the theme, and excite guests to come. Before sending out your children's party invitations, review the invitation ideas that I have for each party theme, as well as the following tips.
Start with the Guest List
When making your guest list, keep in mind the size of your house and how many people it can comfortably hold for a party. You might want to stick to the "unwritten" rule, that the age of the birthday child determines the number of guests. For example, if you child is turning six, you might want to invite six kids.
But if you think you can handle a larger group of children (and you have help from other adults), then by all means, go for it.
Include Party Particulars
On the invitations, remember to provide important details: who the party is for, what the theme is, where it is held (along with the directions, if necessary). Make sure to include the time when it will start and end, so the parents know when to pick up their children.
List Special Instructions
Offer information about what kind of food will be served. Plus, list items the kids should bring with them, for example, a teddy bear for a teddy theme party or a towel and a swimsuit for a pool party.
Request an RSVP
On the invitations, write down your phone number and the date you want the response by. When parents phone to confirm, ask if their children have any allergies or medical conditions you should know about. For larger parties, write "regrets only."
Send Birthday Invitations at Least Two Weeks in Advance
That way your guests have plenty of time to respond. And you'll know roughly about the amount of food and favors you'll need for the party. You can find a great collection of free printable invitations here.
