Lizzie McGuire Birthday Party Games
*Pin the Hair Clip on Lizzie: For this traditional party activity, you'll need a poster of Lizzie McGuire. Cut hair-clip shapes out of pink or blue construction paper. Put your guests' initials and double-sided tape on the back of each hair clip. Mount the poster on the wall.
At game time, blindfold the girls, spin them around twice, and get them to pin their hair clips onto Lizzie McGuire poster where they belong.
*Memory-abilia: Collect 10 to 15 small, theme-related items (e.g., ring, barrette, earring, bracelet, sunglasses, watch, temporary tattoo, nail polish, etc). Set them on a tray in front of everyone for about 20 seconds while players try to memorize as many items as possible.
When time's up, pass out paper and pencils. Give kids about 1-2 minutes to write down as many items as they can remember. Whoever lists the most, wins!
*Dolled-up Designer Outfits: Give young designers a chance to create special fashions. You'll need several paper dolls, a sheet of butcher paper for each girl, pencils, crayons, and markers. Provide fashion magazines for inspiration.
Allow the kids 15-20 minutes to trace paper dolls and design creative outfits for them. When everyone's finished, vote on a favorite design.
*Fashion Relay: Divide the group into two teams. Give each team a suitcase filled with oversized pants, a shirt, a jacket, necklaces, bracelets, a purse, and a pair of shoes.
On the command "Go", one person on each team opens the suitcase and puts on all the items, runs to the other side of the party area, around the chair, and back to starting line. She then takes her items off, and the next person in line continues in the same manner. The team to finish first wins the Fashion Relay.
*Cool Edible Jewels: Girls will love creating sweet jewelry. For edible "beads," purchase a variety of doughnut-shaped cereal, small candies, or tiny cookies. (Life Savers® candies are kid-favorites - buy as many varieties as you can find so there's lots of colors and flavors to choose from.)
For stringing material, use spaghetti licorice rope so necklaces and bracelets are completely edible. (Use yard or elastic cord as alternatives.) Write guests' names on slips of paper, and place them in a hat. Once kids have drawn names, each gets to design a piece of jewelry for their chosen person.
*Shop 'Till You Drop: For this cool Lizzie McGuire birthday party game, you'll need balloons (about 2 per guest), small pieces of paper, large garbage bags, and a small prize.
Before the party, write names of clothing items (e.g. skirt, shoes, capris, etc.) on pieces of paper. On one of the paper pieces write down "Fashion Star". Blow up the balloons and insert the paper pieces into separate balloons (so one paper piece goes in each balloon).
Put the inflated balloons inside garbage bags. Explain to the party guests that the purpose of the game is to find a "Fashion Star" note by sitting (not stomping) on the balloons. Next, release the balloons and let the fun begin. Whoever finds the "Fashion Star" note gets a small prize.
*Baby It's You: Ask your Lizzie McGuire birthday party guests to bring their baby pictures. Tape them on a large poster and number each photo. Set poster where everyone can see it. Provide pencils and paper for guests to write on. Then have them guess who each "baby" is.
If guests are older, include baby pictures of the birthday child's siblings, parents, and family pets for more fun!
*Magazine Scavenger Hunt: Before the party, create a list of fashionable items of clothing and accessories. Provide fashion magazines, and let the girls go through them to find and record the items. The person to find the most items wins the game.
*Groovy Birthday Banner: Purchase a large sheet of white butcher paper and write "Happy Birthday (your child's name)!" on top. Then, help her lie down on the paper, and trace her body. (Make a second banner if you have many guests attending the party.)
Mount the paper on the wall within easy reach of the kids, or place it on the floor. Provide crayons, markers, stickers, stencils, glue, glitter, ribbons, colored tissue, scraps of fabric, feathers or buttons for designing a "cool" outfit for the birthday girl.
Encourage the kids to include messages and drawings with their names beside them. After the Lizzie McGuire party, fold the banner and save it as a great reminder of the event for years to come! Don't forget to take the picture of it with all the kids for your photo album!
*Watch the Show: Invite the girls to watch an episode of Lizzie McGuire show or movie at the end of the party. It's a perfect way to occupy the guests while they are waiting for their rides to arrive!
Food and Drink Lizzie McGuire Birthday Cakes:
*Lizzie McGuire Cake: Bake a round or rectangular cake according to package directions. Get a picture of Lizzie McGuire, and cover it with a piece of waxed paper. Next, trace the outline with a toothpick, and frost different sections of the cake accordingly.
