Create your invites using white card stock paper. Download and print pictures of Miss Spider off the internet. Glue them on the front of the cards. Or, to make your invites even cuter, you can take a picture of your daughter wearing Miss Spider costume, and stick that photo on the front instead.

Decorate invites with theme stickers. For a more elegant look, attach a blue or pink ribbon. Write "We'll be waiting for you in Sunny Patch at (child's name) Miss Spider Birthday Party!" and include the rest of the party info. Put some plastic bugs in envelopes when you mail the invites.

As an alternative, you can print theme coloring pages off Nick Jr. website and use them as invitation cards.

    Miss Spider Party Decorations

Decorate your area with yellow, green, and blue balloons and paper streamers. Create a "Happy Birthday" banner painting the words in pink color.

Stick some pinwheels that look like flowers in the ground leading to your front door. Draw a large spider web with crayons on the ground. Place a sign that says "Welcome to Sunny Patch!"

Inside the house, mount Miss Spider theme posters on the wall. If you don't have any, then print out some pictures of spiders, dragonflies, butterflies, beetles, ladybugs, etc., and hang them on the wall.

Spread out bugs, spiders, and other critters on the floor and party table. Have some spider webs and plastic insects hanging from the ceiling.

    Favors

Fill favor bags with theme crayons, containers for blowing bubbles, Miss Spider stickers, coloring books, plastic bugs, rings, miniature ladybug plush toys, and so on.

    Miss Spider Party Games

Greet little guests as they arrive with a warm welcome. Place removable bug tattoos on their shoulders or offer to paint some bugs on their cheeks.

*Color Miss Spider: Scatter theme activity pages on the floor. Provide crayons and have the kids color the pages while other guests are still arriving.

*Pin Miss Spider on Her Web: Draw a picture of a spider web before the party. Use Miss Spider stickers, or cut out spider shapes out of construction paper. Write names of guests on the "spiders."

At game time, put up the spider web picture on the wall, blindfold the kids, and get them to tape their spiders as close to the center as they can. (Don't force young children if they don't want to be blindfolded.)

*Beetle, Beetle, Spider: Invite the kids to play Miss Spider version of "Duck, Duck, Goose" game.

*Ants in the Yard: Set up an obstacle course (chairs, cones, etc.) in your backyard. Tell the kids they're ants walking one after another in a single line. Play a song from Miss Spider show. Have them walk around the obstacles and sing along.

*Bug Everyone: Before the party, cut out pictures of spiders or use stickers of various bugs. At activity time, tape the pictures on kids' backs without them looking. Get them to determine what kind of bug is on their back by "bugging" other kids with questions.

They can ask "Do I fly (crawl, hop)?" or "What color am I?" etc. Help out the youngest in the group by offering hints.

*Dance the Jitterbug: Put on some upbeat party tunes and let the kids dance to the music. Younger kids can move to the beats together with their parents.

*Watch the Show: At the end of the party, invite the party guests to watch an episode from Miss Spider show.

    Food and Drink

    Miss Spider Birthday Party Cake:

*Miss Spider Cake: Bake 2 round cakes: a larger cake for the body, and a smaller one for the head. Place the cakes next to each other, and ice in yellow color. Then add M&Ms, gum drops, and other candies for Miss Spider's facial features.

    Miss Spider Party Food Ideas:

*Butterfly Pizza: Use cookie cutters to cut pizza slices into butterfly shapes.

*Miss Spider: Spread peanut butter on two crackers. Lay 4 pieces of black licorice on top of one cracker (cut licorice if necessary). Then sandwich the crackers together. Add 2 raisins on top of the spider for eyes (use peanut butter on raisins to make them stick).

*Ants on a Log: Cut celery in roughly 5" slices and fill with almond butter. Stick some raisins (ants) on top.

    *Holley the Spider Hot Dogs
    *Bounce the Bed Bug Popcorn
    *Betty Beetle's Ice Cream
    *Gummy Worms

*Buggy Ice Cubes: Place edible candy bugs into ice tray. Add water and freeze. You'll end up with ice cubes that have critters inside. Add them to drinks of your choice.
