Invitations
To make My Little Pony birthday invitations, outline and cut pony shapes out of construction paper. Write your party information with a silver pen. Then put pony stickers and stamps all over the invitations.
The wording of My Little Pony party invitations can start with "You're invited to (your child's name) My Little Pony Birthday Party to celebrate him/her turning (age)." Write all the remaining party information. Then end your invitations with "Don't be late! All the little ponies will be there to celebrate!"
You can choose other slogans to start off your invitation wording. For example, it could say: "(Your child's name) Ponnyville Party!", "Join (birthday child's name) for My Little Pony Party!" or "Flutter by (your child's name) My Little Pony Birthday Celebration!"
What a cute invitation it would be if you put a picture of the birthday child wearing a pony costume on the front of white invitation cards! Write all My Little Pony birthday party details inside the cards.
Finally, you can get your child to color pages of theme activity books. Then take the pages out, fold them in half, write My Little Pony birthday party information and send the invitations to the guests.
Decorations
For My Little pony party decorations, use such colors as purple, pink, blue, as well as colors of the rainbow. Print images of My Little Pony characters, enlarge them, and post them on the fence to mark your party spot. You can also add images of rainbows, clouds, etc. Play soft theme music in the background.
Decorate your driveway by drawing ponies, horseshoes, etc. with a colorful chalk. Hang balloons and paper streamers all around the yard. Spread out real or toy horseshoes, saddles, etc. around the area. Mount a banner near the front door that says "Welcome to My Little Pony Birthday Party!"
Inside the house, fill the ceiling with blue and clear helium balloons to represent the sky and the clouds. Draw a large rainbow and tape it to the wall. Hang My Little Pony posters around the house. Spread out plastic horses and construction paper horseshoe-shaped cutouts on the floor. Place My Little Pony activity books, coloring pages and crayons on coffee tables.
Cover My Little Pony birthday party table with a theme cloth. Place pony beanbag or blowout in the middle of the table for a centerpiece. Print and laminate My Little Pony images, and put them at each setting for placemats. Tie purple helium balloons to the backs of the chairs. Hang a personalized "Happy Birthday" banner nearby.
Guest Arrival and Introductory Activities
*Guess How Many: Fill a clear jar with gummy horses and horseshoes. (Count and write the number of candy that you put in the jar.) When the kids arrive, get them to guess how many gummies are in the jar. The person who guesses the closest to the amount receives the jar full of candy to take home. (For younger kids, have their parents or helpers assist in coming up with a number estimate.)
*Face Painting: As My Little Pony birthday party guests enter the house, brighten their faces with a bit of face paint. Decorate guests' cheeks with pastel colors and My Little Pony symbols: flowers, butterflies, rainbows, hearts, and so on.
*Coloring Pages: Lay out My Little Pony activity books all around the party area. Provide the kids with crayons and markers, and get the "young artists" to color the pages.
Favors
For My Little Pony party favors, give out such items as heart-shaped buckets, neon hair clips, notepads, flower gel pens, My Little Pony charm bracelets, soft plastic rings, pastel crayons, sticker sheets and blowouts.
My Little Pony Birthday Party Games
*Pin the Tail on the Pony: Change classic "Pin-the-Tail" game slightly to fit My Little Pony birthday party theme. Draw a large pony on a poster board (or purchase a poster of My Little Pony character). Draw and cut tail shapes out of construction paper. Then put guests' names and double-sided tape on the back of each tail.
At game time, blindfold the kids one by one, spin them around twice, and get them to pin their tails on the pony where their belong. Whoever comes the closest, wins!
*Find Lost Ponies: Hide small stuffed or plastic ponies and horses throughout your yard or house. Make sure that they are not too difficult to find. Get My Little Pony birthday party guests to find lost animals and bring them back home.
*Galloping Pony Relay: Split the kids into two teams. Line them up. Get them to gallop from one side of the party area, around the chair, and back using horse sticks (or brooms). Players pass horse sticks to the next kids in line. The team to finish first - wins!
*Wild Apple Tree: For this My Little Pony birthday party game, you'll need an apple with a stem (or doughnut) for each child.
Attach a string to the stem of the apple and hang it from a tree or a furniture fixture. Get the kids to bite on and eat their apples like ponies without using their hands. (The apples should hang low enough for children to bite on them.)
*Pennies in a Haystack: Hide pennies and plastic horses in small hay stack. Get the children to find the items for small prizes.
*Musical Ponies: Have the kids sit in a circle. Pass the birthday child's favorite pony toy around the circle when the music starts. When the music stops (do it randomly), the player holding the pony goes out of the game and receives a small treat. Keep playing until there is only one player left.
*Mustang Roundup: Choose one or more kids to be rustlers. All the other My Little Pony birthday party guests are mustangs.
When the rustlers hear command "Corral 'em!" - they have to catch the mustangs. When players get caught, they go to a designated area called "Corral." There they must stand with their legs wide apart.
To be freed, one of the free mustangs must crawl between their legs. Keep the game going until every mustang has been caught.
*Horseshoe Toss: For this My Little Pony birthday party game, you'll need two stakes or sturdy sticks and horseshoes or rope.
Hammer two stakes into the ground a good distance apart. (Judge the distance based on kids' age and ability.) If you don't have real horseshoes (or horseshoes are too heavy for your guests), then make lasso rings out of rope.
Form rings that are large in diameter, so the young kids have an easier time slipping them over the stakes. Use masking tape for players to stand behind. Have the guests take turns in tossing their horseshoes or lasso rings around the stakes.
*Pony Adventure: Purchase My Little Pony book and tell your guests a story. Or, if you like, watch a video. Either activity allows the kids to unwind at the end of the party.
Food and Drink My Little Pony Birthday Cakes:
*Rainbow Cake: You'll need 1 packaged cake mix, one 15-oz container of ready-made frosting, one 12" diameter round cake pan, one 8-oz container of Cool Whip®, and edible glitter.
Start out by making pink, pastel yellow and lavender gel: tint half the container of frosting pink, then divide the remaining frosting, and tint half of it yellow and the other half lavender.
Bake a round cake according to package directions. Cool and cut it in half so that you have 2 semi-circles. Place one layer on top of the other on the cake board. After spreading the bottom layer with jam, frost the top of the cake with in a rainbow pattern.
Gently tip the cake so that the cut (flat) edge is placed on the cake board. Then frost the rounded edge of the cake with the remaining pink frosting. Sprinkle the edible glitter on the top edge of the cake. Add a Cool Whip cloud to the base of the rainbow.
*Pretty Pony Castle Cake: Purchase Castle Cake pan from a party store. Bake a cake following instructions included. When the cake is cool, lay it on a large, foil-covered piece of cardboard or tray. Decorate castle using one of the options provided with the pan, or design it as you want.
Next, tint vanilla icing green and cover the foil-covered tray with it, to make "grass" around the castle. Finally, place miniature pony figurines on the grass, and serve the cake to the gang! My Little Pony Birthday Party Food Ideas:
