Pink Poodle Birthday Party Ideas

Many kids (girls especially) will be very excited about attending Pink Poodle birthday party! Expose them to a Parisian lifestyle with the following Pink Poodle party ideas!

Resources:

  • Party Supplies
  • Free Printable Invitations

  • Invitations

Make your Pink Poodle party invitations using pink or white invitation cards. Print a picture of your child on the front of the cards. Below the picture write "Ooh La La, Mon Cheri, look who is turning (age)." Decorate the invitation cards with Pink Poodle stickers.

Then on the inside of the cards write "Pretty in pink and oh so tres chic - from the top of her head to her cute little feet! She requests your presence at her Pink Poodle Birthday Party! Call us s'il vous plait at (phone number)." Then provide the rest of the party details.

Secondly, you can make Pink Poodle party invitations in a shape of Eiffel Tower (or a poodle). Cut out the shapes from pink construction paper. Decorate them to your best ability. Write Pink Poodle birthday party information on the back side.

Lastly, you can get Paris postcards and write your party details on them. Invite the kids to bring their stuffed dogs or other animals to the party.

    Decorations

For your Pink Poodle party decorations, cut out an image of Pink Poodle and place it on the fence. If you have a very young child, take her or his picture wearing Pink Poodle costume, and tape it to the fence instead. Tie pink, white and purple balloons to the posts to mark your party spot. Mount a sign that says "Bonjour Mesdames et Messieurs!"

Cut out paw prints from pink construction paper. Place the cutouts on the driveway to lead your Pink Poodle birthday party guests to the front door. Create an Eifel Tower by cutting 4 identical tower profile shapes out of sturdy cardboard. Paint the shapes in pink (or metallic) color, tape them together and place the standee in the middle of the yard. Play Pink Poodle or French theme music in the background.

Cover your walls with Pink Poodle posters. You can also put up removable wall decorations for a fun effect. Spread Pink Poodle stuffed toys and figurines all around the room. Decorate with pretty pink curling ribbons and crepe paper streamers.

You can "create a street" by taping pictures of Paris buildings, restaurants, cafes, parks on the wall next to each other. Write street names in French. Create signs in French for names of banks, office buildings, famous places and spread them around. Have as much fun of turning your house into a neighborhood of Paris as you can.

Decorate your Pink Poodle birthday party table with a theme tablecloth. Place Eifel Tower cups at each place setting. Have Pink Poodle Mylar balloon for a centerpiece. Tie helium balloons to the backs of the chairs.

    Guest Arrival and Introductory Activities

*Guess How Many: Place red and pink M&Ms and other gummy candies into a jar. (Count candies as you are putting them in the jar.) When your Pink Poodle birthday party guests arrive, they get to guess the number of candies in the jar. Everyone gets small prizes, but the person who guesses the closest to the actual number, wins a jar full of candy to take home.

*Coloring Pages: Provide your guests with theme activity books and coloring pages. Invite them to color the pages with crayons and markers while they're waiting for other guests to arrive.

*Tote Bag Activity: You can get pink tote bags from a party store. Have the girls decorate them with sparkly stick shapes, flowers, ribbons, etc. For boys' decoration activity, you can make dog-bone shaped baskets by cutting out large dog bone shapes from foam and gluing them to white storage trays.

    Favors

For Pink Poodle party favors, give out such items as charm bracelets, poodle beanbags, crayons, Pink Poodle note pads, sticker sheets, French postcards, and so on.

    Pink Poodle Birthday Party Games

*Pin the Tail on Fifi: Draw a large picture of a poodle on butcher paper (or purchase a theme poster). Cut tail shapes out of pink construction paper (enough for all the guests). Write kids' names and put double-sided tape on the back side of the "tails."

At game time, mount the poster on the wall. Blindfold the kids one by one, spin them around and get them to stick their tails on Fifi where they belong.

*Poodle, Poodle, Where's Your Bone?: Select one child to be the Poodle. Have her sit on a chair facing away from the other players. Put a "bone" (an object that resembles it) under the chair.

The game starts by one of the guests "stealing" the bone. Then the kids say "Poodle, Poodle, where's your bone? Somebody's stole it from your home!" The Poodle turns around and gets 3 tries to guess who stole the bone.

If she guesses correctly, the person who stole the bone becomes the next Poodle. If she guesses incorrectly, she gets another chance to play as Poodle.

*Baby Food Wonder: It may have been a long time since some of your Pink Poodle birthday party guests have tried baby food.

Test their curiosity and bravery with this fun taste test. Purchase about 5 to 10 baby food jars in various flavors. Cover the labels with paper and number the jars.

At game time, give each kid a paper, pen and spoon. Have children taste a little from each jar and write down their guesses (as to what the flavors are) on pieces of paper. At the end of the activity, the person with the most correct guesses wins a small prize.

*Puppy Couture: Since Paris in the center of fashion, puppies get dressed up too. Give your guests an opportunity to dress up their stuffed dogs or other stuffed animals by making clothes out of pink paper. Provide tape for "sewing" pieces together. You can also enlist moms or teenage girls to help with "designing clothes."

*Fifi Says: Play a Pink Poodle birthday party version of a popular "Simon Says" game.

*Baby Trivia: Check how well your guests know the birthday child. Hand out paper and pens, then ask questions. Good ones may include time of birth, middle name, birth height and weight, first word, favorite toy, dates child first started to crawl or walk, etc. Be creative and see who knows your baby best!

*Pass the Bone: Have the kids sit in a circle. Get them to pass an object that resembles the bone (a bone-shaped cutout, empty paper towel roll wrapped in plastic, etc.) while music plays. When the music stops, the person holding the bone goes out of the game and receives a prize.

*Chic Collars: Invite the kids to decorate puppy collars with silver sequins and glitter. Use felt with self-fastening strips, construction paper and tape. Encourage children to think of a French name and decorate a nametag for the collar. Punch holes through the top of the tag and center of the collar. Attach together with a pink pipe cleaner or colored paper clip.

*Poodle Parade: After the kids have created their collars, put on some children's music and invite the guests to form a "human train" that moves from room to room to the music.

    Food and Drink

    Pink Poodle Birthday Cake:

*Pink Poodle Cake: Bake a regular rectangular or round cake. Frost it pink. Top with Pink Poodle cake toppers (available from a party store).

Pink Poodle Birthday Party Food Ideas:

*Fabulous French Crepes: Beat 3 eggs, then add 1/4 cup butter, 1 1/4 cup milk and 1 tsp vanilla. Sift in 1/4 tsp salt and 1 cup flour. Mix in with egg batter. Beat until smooth and thin.

Melt some butter on a skillet. Pour a little batter on the pan. Cook both sides until golden brown. Top with sliced strawberries and whipped cream. (Add a touch of red food coloring to the whipped cream beforehand to create pretty pink puffs.)

*Dainty Lick Fruit Salad: Purchase small dog dishes. Then decorate them with pink or silver sequins and flower stickers, and label each with a guest's name. Using a melon scoop, create little balls of cantaloupe, honeydew or watermelon. Add strawberries and a dollop of whipped cream for the final "ooh-la-la touch."

*Parisian Petit Fours: For this Pink Poodle birthday party dessert, purchase or make a basic pound cake. Slice it into tiny squares and spread with strawberry jam. Create pink icing by mixing 2 cups of powdered sugar with 6 tbsp of water and a few drops of red food coloring.

Drizzle icing over cake squares and top with candy frosting flowers. (You can also substitute the pound cake with a simple sheet cake, cut it into tiny squares or serve miniature pink cupcakes.)

*Painted Puppy Biscuits: Create your child's favorite sugar cookie recipe or save time with store-bought cookie dough.

Roll out and cut dough into dog-bone shapes. Bake according to directions, then cool. Ice with pink frosting (can be made with a touch of red food coloring or purchased pre-made).

*Café Croissants: Bake frozen croissants or purchase fresh ones (miniature size is especially fun) and fill with turkey, lettuce and cream cheese.

*Pink Poodle Sandwiches: Make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and cut them in poodle shapes.

    *Fruit & Cheese Tray
    *Pink Cupcakes
    *Pink Poodle Frosted Cookies
    *White Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

Pink Poodle Birthday Party Drink Ideas:

*Prancing Pink Lemonade: Stir 2/3 cups of sugar into 2 cups of water until dissolved. Pour in 1/3 cup of grenadine syrup and squeeze in juice from about 12 lemons. Pour 1/4 cup of mixture into each glass and add water to fill. Garnish with strawberries.

*Pink Poodle Punch: Mix Sprite, raspberry Crystal Light and raspberry sherbet.
