  • Invitations

For your Polly Pocket birthday party invitations, cut out TV shapes from red or pink construction paper. Outline a TV screen and color it black. Then print an image of Polly Pocket inside the TV screen. Write your party information on the backs of TV shapes.

Polly Pocket The invitations can start with "Hey, Fashion friends! (Your child's name) is turning (age) and wants to invite you to her Polly Pocket Birthday Party!". Then include the rest of the party details.

Secondly, you can print a picture of the birthday child on the front of plain white invitation cards. Write your Polly Pocket birthday party information on the inside of the cards. Then decorate the invitations with theme stickers.

Lastly, you can make your Polly Pocket party invitations in shapes of cell phones. Simply cut out cell phone shapes from pink construction paper. Write "Ring-a-ring-a-ring! Polly Pocket is calling to invite you to (your child's name) Birthday Party!" Then write your party details.

    Decorations

Choose Polly Pocket party decorations in lime green, orange, pink, purple and red colors. Download and enlarge an image of Polly that you can hang from the fence. Decorate your yard with colorful flowers (fresh or made from material). Hang balloons and streamers in bunches all around the yard.

Cut out shapes of handbags from pink construction paper, and place them on your driveway to lead children to the front door. Place some pinwheels decorated with paper flowers on both sides of your driveway. Put up a sign that says "Welcome to Polly Pocket Birthday Party!" near the entrance. Play theme music in the background.

Have stuffed toy dogs (or dog posters) to represent Taffy and Ginger (Polly's pets). Hang posters of Polly Pocket and her friends on the walls. Place several colorful pillows on the sofa. Put one or two vases with fresh flowers on some furniture items. Scatter around any Polly Pocket toys that you might have.

Spread out lip gloss, makeup, hair gel and other similar items on a coffee table. Place a feather pen with a "purse" notepad nearby (so Polly Pocket birthday party guests can leave birthday messages for your child). Spread out some nice handbags and shoes around party area.

Cover your Polly Pocket birthday party table with a theme tablecloth. Sprinkle colorful confetti all over the table. Place Polly Pocket Mylar balloon in the middle of the table for a centerpiece. Tie helium balloons to the backs of the chairs. Hang a personalized "Happy Birthday" banner nearby.

    Guest Arrival and Introductory Activities

*Guess How Many: Fill a jar with pink jellybeans and have the kids guess how many are in the jar. Give the jellybeans to a child who can guess closest to the amount, and give the leftovers to other players.

*Coloring Pages: If you have young girls attending your party, then provide them with pencils and crayons. Get the kids to color Polly Pocket coloring pages.

*Fancy Dress-Up: Here is an opportunity for the girls to make themselves real pretty. Help them do their hair and put on little make up. Provide them with any accessories that you might have: rings, necklaces or bracelets.

*Flower Door Hanger Activity: You can get a door hanger kit from a party store. Have your guests decorate their door hangers with felt flower pieces, sparkly letters and colorful gems.

    Favors

For your Polly Pocket party favors, give out such items as colorful gel bracelets, lip gloss, feather gel pens, high-heel boot cups, cell phone "bubbles", Polly Pocket blowouts and sticker sheets.

    Polly Pocket Birthday Party Games

*Pin the Flower on Polly: For this Polly Pocket birthday party game, print and enlarge an image of Polly and then tape it to poster board. Draw and cut out flower shapes from construction paper (enough shapes for everyone). Write girls' names and put double-sided tape on the back of the flowers.

At game time, mount the poster on the wall. Next, blindfold the kids one by one, spin them around and get them to stick their flowers on Polly's hair. The person who sticks the flower the closest to a designated spot wins!

*Jewel Hunt: Hide toy jewels, rings and other gems around the house or yard. Invite the guests to find as many jewels as they can. Give out prizes to everyone for their effort.

*Awesome Purse Puzzle: Fill a pretty purse with 15-20 fashionable items (e.g. jewelry, hairclip, comb, lipstick, etc).

Split the group into pairs. Blindfold the team of two girls at a time. Allow them to feel through the purse with their hands trying to recognize the items (without naming items out loud). Next, invite them to a separate room where they can discuss and write down all the items they think are inside the purse. The pair that gets the most items right - wins.

*Truth or Dare: Have your Polly Pocket birthday party guests confess to a secret in an answer to a question. Those who don't confess have to face the consequences, such as "sing opera," "dance the twist," or "count backwards from 100."

*Candy Necklaces: Fill several bowls with doughnut-shaped candy and favorite "O's" cereal. Provide the girls with necklace strings and let them create their own edible necklaces.

*Balancing Act: Have all the guests line up on one side of the party area. One at a time, have each girl try to walk to the other side of the area and back balancing a book on her head. Add more books and vary the difficulty of this activity with different sized books.

*Wacky Wardrobe Relay: Divide the group into two teams. Give each team a suitcase filled with oversized pants, a shirt, a jacket, necklaces, bracelets, a purse and a pair of shoes.

On the command "Go", one person on each team opens the suitcase and puts on all the items, runs to the other side of the party area, around the chair and back to the starting line. She then takes her items off, and the next person in line continues in the same manner. The team to finish first wins the relay.

*Dress-Up Mirrors: For this Polly Pocket birthday party craft, you'll need: small hand mirrors, craft glue, sequined trim, jewels and glitter.

Put a thick coat of glue over entire back of the mirror (keep the edges smooth). Outline outside edge of the mirror by laying a string of sequins on the edge. Trim off any extra.

Place the jewels on the mirror. Sprinkle glitter over the entire glued area until covered. Shake off the extra glitter. Let it dry thoroughly. Repeat the steps for each mirror.

*Disco Dance Time: Prepare some fun and lively music CDs before the party. Choose one person to be a leader (birthday child will be the leader first). Line up all the other children behind him or her. The leader starts making a lot of dance moves to the music and the rest of the group must follow.

If the leader needs some help, suggest basic moves like hopping, jumping, clapping hands, turning around, etc. Switch leaders every couple of minutes. Play until everyone has had a turn being a leader, or until it's time for another activity.

*Watch the Show: At the end of the Polly Pocket birthday party, invite the girls to watch "Pollyworld" movie, so they can unwind after the party.

    Food and Drink

    Polly Pocket Birthday Cake:

*Polly Pocket Cake: Bake two or three round cakes (in different sizes). Ice the cakes pink. Place each cake on top of each other. (Start with a biggest cake in diameter at the bottom and finish with lowest diameter at the top.)

Place a Polly Pocket cake topper (available at a party store) in the center of the cake. Add other edible decorations like flowers, sprinkles, etc.

Polly Pocket Birthday Party Food Ideas:

*Dainty Dogs: Slice hotdogs lengthwise about halfway through without cutting them apart. Cut cheese into strips. Insert cheese into hotdog cut. Unroll refrigerated crescent rolls into individual triangles. Place hotdogs onto rolls. Roll up crescent and bake on cookie sheet at 375°F for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.

*Pink Mac & Cheese: Prepare regular macaroni and cheese. Add red or pink food coloring to turn macaroni pink.

*Cookie-Cutter Sandwiches: Use cookie cutters of various shapes to cut bread, meat and cheese. Arrange sandwiches on a tray with apple slices.

*Star Cookies: Prepare the birthday child's favorite cookies. Cut into star shapes before baking. Decorate with pink sprinkles or jimmies.
