The princess birthday cake below was kindly submitted by one of our readers like yourself... Cake Submitted by Suzie S. from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
This doll cake was made for a little princess. Her birthday party had a Princess theme, and she asked for a birthday cake that looked like a dress she had seen and loved. The little girl's mom had drawn a picture of the cake for me to follow as a guide. We needed "more cake" to serve to their guests so her mom loved the petal-shaped cake, and asked if I can make the bottom cake into a petal. I used the 12" petal pan (double layer cake) and the doll mold pan to create these shapes. I added the roses to the petal cake, the doll's dress was made out of fondant; flowers on the dress were royal icing, as well as in the doll's hair and in a flower bouquet (that the doll is holding in her left hand). They had asked if I can add earrings, necklace and a bracelet to the doll which is glued on using 3mm pearls. The birthday girl and her mom were very happy when they saw the cake. They told me later that this princess cake was the hit of the party. Click here if you're interested in princess castle cake ideas.
