Purse Cake Recipe and Design Ideas

Purse Cake



For this purse birthday cake you'll need 3 loaf pan cakes to make a purse, as well as a full sheet cake...

I made the sheet cake to look like VISA card, and the loaf pan cakes to look like Louis Vuitton purse.

First I made the purse with buttercream icing. Next I added the fondant, the handle and the accessories. Zipper was prepared earlier to have enough time to dry. I attached it to the cake using egg whites.

A good friend of mine had let me borrow her purse to gather all the details to apply to the cake, as well as to view the designs and colors. I highly recommend having a visual aid in front of you as you're working with this particular cake.
