  • Invitations

There a few creative ways to make your rock climbing party invitations.

First, you can make them look like climbing gym brochures. Get someone to take a picture of you climbing. Then print that picture on the front of the "brochure." Create a name for the gym using your first or last name.

Or simply ask for real brochures from the rock climbing gym you intend to have the party at.

As an alternative, you can use regular sheets of paper to write your party info on. Then wrap the invites around rocks, and hand deliver them to your guests. The wording of your invitations can start with "Come Hang out with Us!"

    Decorations

If you're planning to spend the majority of the time at the indoor climbing facility, then you shouldn't worry too much about decorating your house.

Just have a few paper streamers and balloons. Spread out some rocks, climbing theme posters and brochures. Hang ropes from the ceiling.

    Favors

Give out such party favors as postcards of mountains, compasses, flashlights, Cliff bars, keychains, water bottles, and carabiners.

    Rock Climbing Party Games

*Climbing Instructions: Once everyone has arrived to the gym, have a staff member go through instructions and safety rules.

Have him or her explain how to put on the harness, lock chains, and so on. It's very important to make sure everyone knows what he or she is doing. Ask instructors to keep a close eye on the group.

Have everyone practice going up and down at least once.

*Climbing Wall Races: Have a friendly race where individuals try to climb the fastest to the highest point.

*Go Higher: After you master beginner's level, move on to more difficult climbs.

*What Else?: Keep the party spirit going! After some climbing, you can move to a local arcade hall.

There you can have a variety of extra activities: video games, air hockey, foosball, and so on.

Or if you like, you can get a dartboard, and play some darts at home.

*Movie: To relax at the end of the party, pop a movie into a DVD player and watch it with your party group.
