Snow White Party Ideas

Snow White party theme is ideal for girls who love this old Disney classic.

But that doesn't mean you should have a "girls-only" party. Invite the boys too, if you like. Turn them into princes by giving them paper crowns and royal jewels.

Get ready for a fun celebration!

  • Invitations

You have a few options for creating Snow White birthday invitations.

First, you can have them look like royal scrolls. Print party details in old English font on rough golden-colored paper. Next, burn the edges slightly to give it that "old" look. Then roll the paper into a scroll, and tie it with a nice ribbon.

The wording of your invitations can say "Come to the Royal Palace for a Snow White party to celebrate (child's name) __th birthday!"

Then write the rest of the party information.

Second, you can download an image of Snow White and Seven Dwarfs, and print that image on the front of the cards. As a slight variation, you can use a picture of her looking in the Wishing Well.

Then write "I'm Wishing..." below the image, and write the remainder of the party details inside the cards.

Lastly, you can take a picture of the birthday girl wearing a theme costume, and use that image for the invites.

    Decorations

Yellow, blue and red make great colors for Snow White party theme decor. Decorate your backyard and inside the house with balloons and paper streamers in those colors. Play music from Snow White to set the mood.

    Snow White

Mount life-size prints of Snow White and Dwarfs on the wall. Add pictures of Dwarfs' cottage and forest from the movie.

Use old-style wooden furniture, if you can. Spread dusting accessories and other theme items. Place dwarf figurines around on furniture.

Cover the table with yellow tablecloth, and scatter around apple shaped confetti. Create placemats by printing and laminating character images. Place them at each setting. Hang butterfly shapes from the ceiling using clear fishing lines.

    Guest Arrival and Introductory Activities

*Guess How Many: Fill a jar with blue, yellow, and red jellybeans, counting the beans as you put them in the jar. Invite the guests to guess how many are in the jar as they arrive. Give the jellybeans to a child who guesses closest to the amount, and give leftovers to other players.

*Beaded Charms: Place various beads and stringing materials in a variety of bowls. Everyone gets to make her own necklace. Another alternative is to use candy and cereal to make edible necklaces or bracelets.

*Coloring Pages: For younger kids, spread out Snow White coloring pages on a coffee table or floor. Get the children to color them with crayons and markers.

    Favors

For Snow White party favors have such items as wands, crowns, hats, necklaces, lip gloss, bracelets, Snow White stickers, gel pens, and so on.

    Snow White Party Games

*Find Royal Jewels: Before the party, fill kiddie pool with play sand (available from Home Depot). Hide plastic rhinestones and other fake jewels in the sand. At party time, have the kids look for jewels with toy sand sifters.

*Maid Duty: Can the girls be as good at housecleaning as Snow White? Here is a perfect activity to test just that. Give each one a feather duster or a rag to do a quick clean up in one of the rooms in the house.

*Pass the Apple: Have the kids sit in a circle. Give them an apple to pass around as you play some music.

When you stop the music (do it randomly), the person holding the apple goes out of the game and receives a prize. The last player left in the game, wins.

*Queen and King of the Castle: Have the birthday girl stand on one side of the room facing a wall. Line the other children up on the other side of the room. The players must sneak up and touch the birthday girl on the shoulder.

If the birthday girl hears a sound, she may turn around. If she spots anyone in motion, then that person must go back to the starting position. When somebody taps her on the shoulder, that player becomes the queen or king of the castle and the game starts over.

*Dwarf Charades: Invite a child from the group to act out one of the dwarfs from the movie. The other kids must guess who she or he is trying to portray. (Seven Dwarfs are Doc, Happy, Sneezy, Dopey, Grumpy, Bashful, and Sleepy.)

Have the kids change roles so everyone has a chance to act and guess.

*Dark Forest Obstacle Course: In the film, Snow White runs away through the forest, and it gets hostiles towards her.

Decorate your backyard with Halloween type decorations. Use black or brown paper streamers to represent long tree branches, picture of an owl screeching, and so on. Place several obstacles: chairs, large inflatable items, waste baskets, boxes, and so on.

Have the kids run around the course one by one, while you time them with a stopwatch.

*Magic Mirrors: Before the Snow White party, buy a plastic or foam mirror for each guest. At activity time, have the kids decorate their mirrors with stickers, sequins, rhinestones, and foam.

*Balancing Act: Have the girls line up at one side of the area. One at a time, have each princess try to walk to the other side and back balancing a book on her head. Vary the difficulty of this activity with different size books.

*Dance and Sing Along: At the end of the party, put on some upbeat party songs. Have the kids dance and sing.

    Food and Drink

    Snow White Birthday Cakes:

*Snow White Cake: Bake a rectangular cake. Download and print an image of Snow White. Frost the cake in appropriate colors using image as a guide.

    *Castle Cake

    *Princess Cake

    Snow White Party Food Ideas:

*Flower Sandwiches: Make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Use flower shaped cookie cutters to turn them into cute shapes.

*Pink Mac & Cheese: Prepare regular macaroni and cheese. Add red or pink food coloring for pinkish color.

*Royal Pizza: Serve your child's favorite pizza (or have a variety of flavors).

*Princess Parfait: Put a layer of yogurt, granola, and fresh fruit into plastic cups. Repeat layers once or twice in each cup. Top with whipping cream.

*Dwarf Food (any miniature food: mini hot dogs, sandwiches, etc.)
*Apple Slices (served with caramel dip)
    *Fruit Trays
    *Ice Cream Sandwiches
    *Marshmallows (dipped in chocolate)
    *Ring Pop Candy
    *Princess Gummies

    Snow White Party Drink Ideas:

    *Fresh Juices
    *Poison Potion (pink lemonade)
