Wiggles Birthday Party Ideas

Wiggles birthday party will be attended with lots of enthusiasm by your guests!

Have the kids play, dance and eat some yummy desert at your special event!

Resources:

  • Party Supplies
  • Free Printable Invitations

  • Invitations

You can make your Wiggles birthday invites look like musical notes. Simply cut out large musical note shapes out of card stock, and write your Wiggles birthday party details on one side.

The wording of your invitations can start with "The Wiggles present... (your child's name) __th Birthday Party!" Then include the rest of the party details such as date, time, location, etc. Other lines to start your invitations include "We'll have a Hoop Dee Doo time at (birthday child's name) Wiggles Party!" or "Wiggle your way to (your child's name) birthday celebration!"

As a variation, you can download an image of the Wiggles characters, and print copies on the front of blank white invitation cards. Then write your Wiggles birthday party details on the inside of the invitations. Draw pictures of musical instruments, notes, or put theme stickers on the cards.

    Decorations

Red, yellow, blue and purple are perfect colors for your Wiggles party decorations. Have balloons and paper streamers in those colors. Play Wiggles music in the background.

The Wiggles Download and print images of Wiggles. Then enlarge and laminate them (if you have to) and tape them on the fence. (Don't forget to include images of Wiggles friends: Dorothy the Dinosaur, Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog, Henry the Octopus.)

Hang a bunch of colorful balloons near the entrance into the yard so everyone knows where the party is. Mount a banner that says "Welcome to (your child's name) Wiggles Birthday Party!"

Spread out toy instruments around the house. Cut out musical notes and clef shapes from black construction paper and arrange them randomly on the walls and ceiling. Hang some old (or blank) CDs from the ceiling using fishing lines.

Cut out "spotlight" shapes out of sturdy golden or yellow paper, and place them on the floor. (You can also use clip-on desk lamps with compact fluorescent bulbs for the same kind of effect). See if you can borrow party "disco ball" and hang it from the ceiling.

Hang a poster of Wiggles characters on the wall. Make "roses" out of red tissue and green pipe cleaners, and put them in one area of the house for "Dorothy's garden." Fill a small container with water and live fish to represent "Henry's ocean." (Kids can take one fish home at the end of the party, if they like.) Scatter other Wiggles theme-related items around the party room. Allow some red and yellow balloons float throughout.

Cover the Wiggles birthday party table with a theme table cloth. Place Wiggles Mylar balloon in the middle of the table for a centerpiece. Tie balloons to the backs of the chairs. Hang a personalized "Happy Birthday" banner nearby.

    Guest Arrival and Introductory Activities

*Coloring Pages: Have the kids color pages from Wiggles activity books while they are waiting for other guests to arrive.

*Bubble Station: Before the Wiggles birthday party, mix bubble solution by having 1 part Dawn Ultra detergent, 15 parts distilled water and 1/4 parts Glycerine. Provide bubble solutions for the young partygoers. Watch them blow colorful bubbles!

*Play-Doh Activity: You can purchase Play-Doh cookie cutter kit from a party store. Invite the kids to develop various shapes using the tools provided. (Adults can help very young with the process.)

    Favors

For the Wiggles party favors, hand out such items as candy necklaces, crayons, coloring pages, mini flutes, maracas, Wiggles sticker sheets and blowouts.

    Wiggles Birthday Party Games

Here I have included recommended games for the Wiggles party theme. Make sure to enlist helpers or parents to assist the very young children.

*Pin the Patch on Captain Feathersword: Before the party, draw a picture of a pirate on a poster board. (You can purchase a poster instead.) Next, cut out patch shapes from black construction paper for every child. On the day of the party, add a piece of tape to the back of each patch and write child's name on it.

At game time, mount the poster on the wall, low enough for the kids to reach. One by one, blindfold the children, gently spin them around and get them to stick their patches on Captain Feathersword where they belong. (Invite the children to put the blindfold on while sticking, but don't force it.)

*Greg's Magic Trick: Spread a yellow cloth on the floor. Place a top hat on the cloth. Put Greg's picture next to it. Invite the kids to toss beanbags (or small socks filled with dried beans) into the hat.

*Wiggles Dance Time: Put on familiar Wiggles tunes and have the kids dance (along with their parents). Try using a helper to lead the group with dance moves, or just let the kids come up with their own moves.

*Duck Pond: For this activity, you'll need a waterproof marker, rubber or plastic ducks (1 per guest), prizes in separate paper bags, plastic tub or kiddie pool filled with water, and colander with handle.

Using a marker, draw a different number on the bottom of each duck. Then write matching numbers on each prize bag. Set out the tub filled with water. Let the kids take turns to scoop out a duck using the colander. Match the duck's number to bag's number for the child's prize.

*Find Dorothy: Before the Wiggles birthday party, hide a picture of Dorothy the Dinosaur or a stuffed dinosaur toy. Draw and cut out dinosaur "footprints" from brown construction paper. Spread the footprints all around your house and yard, eventually leading to the hidden item. At game time, invite the kids to follow the footprints to find Dorothy.

*Musical Parade: Have everyone line-up. Hand out musical instruments like tambourines, tom toms, bells and anything else in the house that makes music. Turn on the Wiggles tunes for "inspiration," so the children can play along with the music.

Have the leader start bouncing around the room, with everyone else following. The leader could be the birthday child, or the host of the party.

*Sleep, Sleep, Wake up Jeff!: Play a Wiggles party variation of "Duck, Duck, Goose" game. Have one player walk around saying "Sleep" and tapping others lightly on the shoulder. When she says "Wake up Jeff!", the child who has just been tapped must jump up and chase her around the circle. If she gets all the way around the circle and sits in the empty space without being tagged, then "Jeff" becomes "it."

*Story Time: Select a picture book and sit everyone together to hear a tale. Toddlers may not understand all the words, but they'll enjoy looking at the pictures with friends and family all around.

    Food and Drink

    Wiggles Birthday Cake:

*Dorothy Cake: Bake a rectangular cake. Print a picture of Dorothy the Dinosaur off the computer, and place it on the cake. Then carve around the paper to shape the cake. Finally, ice various portions of the cake with butter cream icing.

    Wiggles Birthday Party Food Ideas:

*Henry the Octopus & Seaweed: Take a hotdog and cut an "x" on each end creating 4 "octopus legs" on both sides. Serve hotdogs on a platter of "seaweed" (green spinach linguine noodles). Add butter and parmesan cheese to the noodles for extra flavor.

*Wags the Dog Sandwiches: Prepare sandwiches with various fillings. Use dog-bone cookie cutters to make bone-shaped sandwiches.

*Pup-Cakes: Bake enough cupcakes for all your Wiggles birthday party guests. Frost the cupcakes with theme colors. Add extra "edible decorations" such as M&Ms, chocolate chips, and other small candies.

*Dorothy's Jell-OŽ Eggs: Cut off the top of an egg, pour it out, and rinse the shell. Insert a small edible dinosaur into each shell. Mix Jell-O according to package directions, and pour into the egg shells.

Cool the filled eggs in the refrigerator. After the Jell-O sets, have your Wiggles birthday party guests crack the eggs open and eat the surprise inside. Handle the Jell-O dinosaur eggs carefully so they don't break before the Jell-O sets!

*Edible Dog Collars: Use long licorice for stringing material, and use hole-in-the-center cereals like Cheerios, Fruit Loops, etc. String the licorice through candy, and have it for dessert.

*Wiggles Pizza (serve small pizza slices)
    *Baby Carrots & Dip
    *Ice Cream

    Wiggles Birthday Party Drink Ideas:

*Wags' Milk Shakes: Combine 36 oz milk, crushed OreoŽ cookie crumbs, and 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream in blender. (For thicker shakes, add additional ice cream). Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and top with extra cookie crumbs.

    *Freshly-Squeezed Juice
